Who the scale was made by and its history
In the early 70s Tetsuya Fujita and Allen Pearson (whom is the head of the National Severe Storms Forecast Centre) came up with the idea to create the Fujita Scale. Two years later (1973), tornadoes were rated soon after their occurrence.
Tornado data information
The Fujita Scale was applied to tornadoes reported to the NOAA National Tornado Database between 1950 to 1972; the damage of each F level is mostly about wind speed but according to Mr. Fujita it is effectively a damage scale.
